Oil & Gas : : Tuesday, January 6th, 2009 Keystone Energy has one well on Ocean Man, though production is moderate. The Ocean Man Chief and Council along with Indian Oil and Gas Canada (IOGC) has completed a significant mineral lease agreement with Petrobank Energy. This agreement will hopefully result in up to a dozen (12) oil wells being drilled on Ocean Man lands. Petro bank is also planning a major 3-D seismic exploration program in the fall of 2008 to cover a wide area in and around the Band?s lands. Individuals interested in working in the oil business are encouraged to contact any of the current band members who are involved / working in that field to find out the specific details as to how they might be able to get involved in the industry. Agriculture and Lands : : Tuesday, January 6th, 2009 Ag Lands continue to be a key component for our First Nation, as lease revenues are used to support various Band programs and activities. There is ongoing development to improve the productivity on lands including: water, fencing, and grassing of various parcels - new techniques employing modern grazing strategies will further enhance grazing capacity and better utilize the land, keeping in mind the aspect of being "friendly to the environment". This includes adopting a number of the program initiatives under the Farm Stewardship Program. Individuals interested in getting involve in the Ag. Business are encouraged to prepare and submit their resumes to entities such as Pipestone Feeders south of Grenfell or to Natural Valley Processors in Wolseley.
